STATEMENT ON

THE INSURRECTION

AT THE CAPITOL JANUARY 6, 2021

We are astonished and dismayed by the tumultuous events that occurred this week in our nation’s Capital resulting in the deaths of demonstrators as well as law enforcement defending our Capitol and elected legislators.

We firmly believe in the right of all Americans to peacefully protest, but violence and attempts to subvert the will of voters can never be justified.  The actions we witnessed by a mob is abhorrent to the Democratic values and traditions that have made the United States the world’s most enduring republic.  Further, these actions were incited and encouraged by the sitting President.

President Trump has consistently demonstrated an inability to govern effectively and fairly, but nothing compares to the state of disorder, lawlessness, and violence that took place in Washington D.C. this week.  His actions culminated in an instigated attack on our nation’s capital with total disregard for the safety and security of our elected officials, law enforcement personnel and the very demonstrators themselves.

President Trump has violated his oath to the U.S. Constitution. His actions are unforgivable and render him unfit to continue as our President.  It’s time for the truth to be told and for truth to prevail.

We encourage you to contact your elected representatives and your express your views directly to them.  (Contact Information Below)

The results of the Presidential election are certified and final.  We look forward to the Biden administration and governance that will restore dignity and order to the office of the President and govern in a manner to benefit all citizens.
