About Nutley Dems

Welcome!! Nutley Dems is your community source to learn about candidates for local, county, state and federal office.  Through our grassroots efforts, we advocate for Democratic candidates who will support the Constitution and work hard to serve the best interests of all citizens of our country regardless of race, color, gender, ethnicity or orientation.

As the official organization representing Democrats in Nutley, our organization has two major functions which serve all Democrats in our Township. First, the Nutley Democratic County Committee is comprised of friends and neighbors you elected to represent the Democratic Party in Nutley. Second, through the Nutley Democratic Club we are able to provide a forum for serving the broader needs of our community. The heart of both of these wonderful groups is community volunteerism.  We are proud of our long history of getting out the vote for Democratic candidates who will work hard of all of us.

This platform has been built to enable our members to safely engage in volunteer activities in this new COVID -19 environment.  Even during this challenging time there are many ways you can participate and make a difference.

If you are already a member, we hope you will find this site to be a valuable resource. If you are new or considering joining our organization, we welcome your participation and look forward to working with you.

Thank you for visiting our website.  We will be working through additional updates to serve you better.  Join our efforts to build a better future for all of us.  Together as one TEAM– Nutley Democrats!!

District Leaders

A District Leader is an unpaid volunteer elected official of the Nutley Democratic County Committee (NDCC). District Leaders are elected by registered Democratic voters in their neighborhoods. District Leaders serve as advocates and representatives of the residents in their districts regarding neighborhood or district issues; and represent their Democratic neighbors at county and state Democratic conventions. District Leaders also formally select candidates for partisan office. In addition, District Leaders facilitate communications with local, county, state, and federal elected officials and candidates throughout the year.

We have 3 wards and each ward contains 6 – 7 districts. Two District Leaders are elected to each district. Therefore, we currently have 25 members of the NDCC. We have 12 open seats to be filled.

Not sure who your representative is? Click here (opens in a separate tab): enter your street address and zip code; hit search, and then scroll halfway down the page to see your ward and district.

BE INSPIRED

As America marked 100th anniversary on 2020 since women won the right to vote, we celebrate all of the women who have been leading for the past century, and Kamala Harris, the first woman of color, to be nominated for Vice President of the United States.

All across the nation, women are breaking the rules, building coalitions, and rising up in service of a movement now a centennial in the making. Even in the face everyday attacks on women and their place in American society—nevertheless, they persist.
