On November 4, 2025, New Jersey voters chose a new direction — electing Mikie Sherrill as the 57th Governor of the Garden State. She defeated Republican nominee Jack Ciattarelli by a decisive margin of 56.6% to 42.9%, a lead of nearly 14 points. With this win, she becomes New Jersey’s second female governor and the first female military veteran to hold the office.
About Mikie
A former U.S. Navy helicopter pilot, federal prosecutor, and four-term U.S. Representative from New Jersey’s 11th district, Mikie knows what it takes to lead with integrity, courage, and results. Her campaign focused on delivering value for working families, tackling affordability, repairing infrastructure, and restoring trust in government.

Governor-Elect Mikie Sherrill will be sworn into office on January 20, 2026, officially succeeding Governor Phil Murphy and launching a new era for New Jersey.
