Early Voting
Early In-Person Voting: October 24 – November 1, 2026
You can vote in person before Election Day at any designated early voting location in Essex County, regardless of your assigned Election Day polling place.

Voting By Mail
October 24 – November 1
In-person early voting is available.
October 27
Deadline for the county clerk to receive an application for a mail-in ballot to be sent by mail.
November 2, by 3 p.m.
Last opportunity to apply for a mail-in ballot in person at the county clerk’s office.
November 3, by 8 p.m.
Deadline to place a completed ballot in an authorized drop box or deliver it to the county Board of Elections. Mailed ballots must be postmarked by Election Day and received by November 9.
Where to drop off your ballot in Nutley
Nutley’s official ballot drop box:
Nutley Town Hall, 1 Kennedy Drive in front of the building. Open 24/7 until 8 PM on Election Day.
You can also return your ballot through USPS. It must be postmarked anytime between now and November 3 and received by November 9.
